I Need To Re-think My Attitude...I used to hate taking photos a lot. When I was young, I never understood why I must smile, and hold it there, to a stupid machine. I never liked doing that either. I never really had my pictures taken during my primary and secondary school days.
However, as I grew older, I began to allow more of my pictures to be taken. I don't mind candid pictures or pictures with a small group of good friends, but I still can't stand large group photos. What's the point of taking a picture of a fucking large group and have a hard time looking for yourself or others when the photo's out? Furthermore, you can't even see yourself clearly. Those are what I strongly believe in.
With that attitude, I got reprimanded by my PC. Here's what happened. In Taiwan, at the last day in the camp, the whole lot of us took photos. Tons of them. As mentioned above, I don't like to take large group photos so I tried not to appear in them. I managed to stay outta most of them, until my PC came and joined in the photo-taking. He demanded the whole platoon to be present, so I couldn't hide no more. Coincidently, I ended up standing beside him. With a very pissed look, I got included in the picture. I wish I can post the picture here to let you guys see how pissed I looked, but the picture bears some logo of the camp and I don't wanna get into no political or military trouble.
As I was saying, the picture was taken and I walked away immediately after the photo was shot. My PC noticed and asked me what happened.
"I don't like to take photos," I replied.
"Zong Hao, you really need to re-think your attitude," my PC told me.
What the fuck? What the fuck? What the fuck? What has my refusal to take photos got to do with my attitude? Can't I have my own choice? Yes, we NSFs are dictated my military laws and disciplines, but is personal preference regarding the taking of photographs part of the dictation? I'm training to be a soldier, not training to take fucking photos. I know attitude problems can get me out of course, but I don't think not liking to take photos is a major attitude problem, if it even is one. What the fuck? And it's not like I disobeyed your 'order' to be in the photo. Fuck...
So here I am, labelled as one to have attitude problems, re-thinking my attitude everyday. The fact that I still remember this until now proves that I have been re-thinking my attitude. But I still don't see how not liking to take photos is a problem. Maybe someone out there can tell me?
End...
