Missing In Action...?

I've been back for quite some time. Taiwan was fun. I ate a lot and bought a lot of stuffs, but that's too long ago and I forgot about most of the details already, thus I will not be blogging about them. I'll gonna write about why it took me so long to write after coming back from Taiwan.

So the story goes. I hit Singapore on the 31st of October and came home to find Jen sleeping on my bed already. I turned the computer on and found out that I couldn't connect online. Jen woke up and told me that she had problems connecting online earlier on too. I dismissed the problem and slept, thinking that everything will be fine the next day.

Next day, woke up and still can't go online. No one came into my room why I was gone, so no one could have adjusted anything. I wanted to blog, so I called Singnet to inform them my problem. I was told to do some troubleshooting. It didn't work. I thought that it was all right since I have the whole week of leave and can afford spending a little time to work things out with my connection. Couldn't solve it on my own.

I called the next day and asked for help. I was told to unplug phones, plug my modem all over the house and still I don't get a solution. The person offered to send a technician over to check my phone line. The man came over a few days later and verified that my line was all right. So that can only prove that my modem had some problems. I tried connecting the modem to my brother's computer and the same thing happened. My point was proven.

Thus, I called to tell them that my modem was damaged. They provided no help. They kept wanting me to troubleshoot, try unplugging the fucking phones and shit like that. I hung up. Frustrated, I called again and raised my voice at them. They gave me the numbers to the modem vendor and their sales department so that I can get a new modem. None of the numbers work. Is it so fucking hard to get help? I already told you that my modem is damaged and I need it replaced. Why the fuck was I told to troubleshoot, play with wires and call numbers that no one will answer? No wonder the quality of service in Singapore is said to have dropped.

Without any breakthrough in anything, I went back to camp, but not before asking my mum to settle it for me. She managed to get the fucking modem replaced, but the technician told my mum I changed some settings in my computer to cause the damage. What the fuck? I haven't touched my computer in 3 weeks. Never mind. At least I get to use the internet again, after 2 fucking weeks.

That, explains my 2-week absence.

curlyface said...: I got the same problem with poor service too... my tv(8mths old from ichiban) was spoilt last saturday... called the Best denki at IMM to tell them the problem and was told tat they will fax to the company and send a someone to fix it... sunday i got a call to confirm the warrenty stuffs while i was in toilet... then... watied for 3-4days not call from anyone...

i called again only to be put on hold... got fustrated... hung up... yesterday(thurs) i went down to IMM with my mom and ask them to settle it... and wat i discover..? their files didn't have a copy about my report nor a photocopy of the fax they promise to send to ichiban... WTH... no wonder the gov is trying to promote greater service... they still got a long way to go man... but there are some good services out there, too few to mention...; 9:17 AM
