Lost...
With no reference to the blockbuster TV series, I feel that my life is at a loss. I cannot see what the future holds for me.
I don't know what I wanna do in the future. 20 years and I still haven't decided. I wanted to be a radio DJ in 93.3FM, but I have no confidence in making it due to the fact that I'm a fucking quiet person when I'm not with my friends.
Also, I still don't know what I wanna take in university. I've got a place in NTU to study Chinese, but it's not a must to have a degree in Chinese to be a DJ and I'm not interested to be a teacher if I don't get the job at the station. I don't know what to take and what to do. My future is an unknown to me.
My friend told me to decide between what I like and what I wanna do. I don't know. I really don't know. I've always envisioned myself being quite well-off, living in at least a condominium and having a car and all that nonsense, but I've got a feeling I might end up doing some odd jobs, living in a 2-room flat and quarrelling with my wife all the time. Damn...
Till now, the only thing I have confidence in is being a soldier. I'm an officer, if I sign on I definitely won't go hungry. But I don't wanna sign my life away. I wanna go out and see the world. How? How?

I Not Stupid Too...
I watched I Not Stupid Too on the eve of the lunar new year. It's truely a touching film. Jack Neo has got himself a potential award-winner there.
The film is not as funny as the first film, but definitely more touching and heart-warming than the previous. It's been long since a film made my tears almost gush outta my eyes. The key word here is almost. I've never cried while watching a movie. Anyway, Jen was weeping away beside me, so much that her eyes became kinda swollen after the film. Ladies, no mascara please.
The film's has got kinda extreme situations. The teens portrayed in the film are too damn unfortunate, but you'll never know if they exist in Singapore. The ending's a little rushed, but still, a good film's a good film. I recommend all to go catch it.

Happy Lunar New Year...
Happy new year to you guys. I found out that the places we visit seem to be lesser and lesser with each passing year. I've finished visiting most of my relatives' houses already, meaning there probably will have no more influx of red packets. Fortunately, I've got $400 already.
My friends are coming over later, probably to gamble. It's been long since such activities involving me occurred in my house. Should be great to see them.

A Story Made Of Quotes...
One day in New York...
Wakko from Animaniacs: According to this, I'd say we've lost our way.
Jackson from Boston Public: You seem mad.
Hans Moleman from The Simpsons: You took four minutes of my life, and I want them back!
Jim from Taxi: Now that's a tough choice...
Neo from The Matrix: Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you.
Barbatus from Antz: Don't make my mistake, kid. Don't follow orders your whole life. Think for yourself.
Joey from Joey: That lawyer logic won't work with me, or any other type of logic for that matter!
Clara from Drawn Together: Help! She's attacking me like I'm the English language.
Tick from The Tick: It's starting to smell a little like danger in here, or heavily-fried food.
Mulder from The X-Files: Excuse me, could you help me find my dog?
Foxxy from Drawn Together: You best stay outta my way, bitch, or you gon' be dead.
Toot from Drawn Together: I swear to God I'll cut my ****ing head off!
Joey from Joey: That's not the problem.
Spanky from Drawn Together: So, whatchu gonna do about it, Chinese?
Eric from The '70s Show: All I wanted was a little help on my paper, and you've done nothing.
Mr. Krabs from Spongebob Squarepants: I smell the smelly smell of something that smells smelly.
Batman from Batman: A sound observation, Robin.
Dr. Carter from ER: Okay, guys, this party is over.
Xandir from Drawn Together: Good-bye, cruel world!
PS: Nobody told ya this will make sense...

2 Days MC...
I have been resting at home for the past 2 days due to stomach flu. Feeling much better now, but my head's still spinning a little. Hope I can get well tomorrow because I'll have to report back to camp and I will have to type out some documents.
Spent some time looking through Friendster just now. I only do that once in a while, and I found out that everyone's changed, especially the girls. They look more matured. I also saw the pictures of my ex-girlfriends. Boy, they sure changed. I was wondering though, how and why did we lost contact? Is it really true that there cannot be friendship where a relationship used to be? Hmm...
Anyway, I bought the latest FHM and saw my cousin in the Top 100 Hottest Girls Next Door. Haha. I don't know what to say. I also saw a primary school classmate in there. The girls are all changing and we guys, having to serve NS, are totally left behind. Damn...

This Weekend...
Jen spent Friday night over at my place and overslept on Saturday morning, thus she didn't go to work. Took her out for a facial treatment in the afternoon and had Carl's Jr. for dinner. Caught In Her Shoes at Suntec City. Quite a good show. You guys gotta catch it. And for those (guys) who like Cameron Diaz, go watch it because she's always dressed skimpily in the film.
I sent her home on a cab after the movie and played with the computer until 7AM. Woke up late in the afternoon and found out that Jen had thrown one of our couple ring away by accident. She was doing some foot scrub on a newspaper and, for reasons I don not comprehend, took her ring off and left it on the newspaper. She crushed the newspaper after she's done with her foot and threw it away. It's a stupid way to lose the ring. It's supposed to be cherished. Whatever... I don't have the heart to be angry at her because, although she threw it, but I know it's not on purpose and she's feeling bad about it.
Meeting her later to pass her something.

Only The Start Of The Year...
I went out with Benedict, Alex and Jin Han yesterday. They initially planned to have Suki Yaki for dinner, but the food didn't look good, so we went to Takashimaya to hunt for food instead. I recommended Pepper Lunch, but the queue was fucking long. After an hour of walking around and discussing, we settled for Seoul Garden. What the fuck? I could've had Seoul Garden at JP.
Anyway, we went to Cineleisure again after dinner to see if we can find anything to do. That's the problem of going out with them. There's no planning at all. All planning are always supposed to be done 'over dinner' but we never did. Anyway, we decided to watch The Heirloom. The worst decision of the night...
The show's at 1.20AM we it was only 11PM when we got the tickets. I saw the teaser before and thought it was quite scary. Furthermore, this Taiwan flick also got nominated for the Golden Horse Awards, so we thought that it may be worth a try. We stayed at the Red Lounge and played the free X-Box games there all the way till 1.20AM before we went to watch the show.
The Heirloom, was a very boring flick. It's not scary, and fucking slow and draggy. It's almost as bad as Son of the Mask I watched last year. It's only the start of the year and one of the worst shows of the year has already emerged. Fucking hell... There's not even the sight of any ghost in the film. You think I'm giving you spoilers? Yes, I am, for your sake. Don't watch that film.
The female lead and the supporting female looked all right, but they still are not enough to save the film or justify the price we paid for the film. A whooping $9.50. Alex and company haven't watched A Chinese Tall Story. I should've watched it again with them. At least I'll get to see Charlene Choi again.
I really have to apologise to all the taxpayers in Singapore, because I used my army allowance, which is actually the citizens' tax money, to watch such a fucked-up show. My deepest apology here.
So here I say again, DON'T WATCH THE HEIRLOOM!!!

Charity Clowns...
I was reading the paper just now, and I saw an article written by one of the columnist calling for better programs on TV. Hell, looks like it's not only my personal opinion that TV programs are getting as bad as a maggot-infested corpse.
Anyway, I walked outta my room just now and happened to see this Ren Ci charity show being aired on TV. It shows 2 Mediacorp artistes walking on 2 wires suspended on what seemed like high ground. That reminds me of what I saw on the papers a few days ago.
Jacelyn Tay, one of the most beautiful artistes I can think of in Mediacorp, injured herself while rehearsing for some stupid stunt dance she's was scheduled to perform tonight. In a spate of anger, she criticised the producers for making artistes do difficult stunts. I have to agree. All those stunts are difficult and stupid. Why do they have to risk their lives for charity? Don't the producers see that a fall from the high ground or any accident occurring may render the invloved artiste(s) paralysed or even cause death?

An artiste decides to barbecue his bike.
They can sing, dance or act, so why risk it? I bet there are more professional people who have had more training time than the short training period the artistes received, and can thus perform the stunts better. The audience can also enjoy better performances this way. Why would you want artistes to present mediocre items? Just because they can attract more donors? Then let them do what they do best so that they can attract even more donors instead of making them do unfamiliar things to get so little money.

That's Sharon Au trying to fit into a box. Acheivement? Or stupidity?
Remember how the foreign artistes just come to Singapore and sing a song or two, or just perform a short dance, and they can attract locals to donate so much more than our local artistes pulling stupid tricks?

"Haha! We don't have to do stupid stunts!"
"And we raised more donations than them!"
You see, there are more ways to get Singaporeans to donate. I bet those who have the heart will donate even without the artistes doing death-defying stunts. Like Jacelyn Tay put it, we don't have to turn the studio into a circus.

"This ain't no Cirque de Soleil!"

Raining...
It's been raining since morning, or rather, I've been seeing rain since the moment I woke up in the morning. It dampens a lot of things, including my mood. The sky is so dark all the time that it kinda makes me lose track of time.
Anyway, I went to the library just now. I went to MPH yesterday while shopping with Jen in Raffles City and the trip aroused my dormant yet insatiable desire to read. It's a Sunday, so I'm not sure if the library's open. Thus, I went online to check out the opening hours. It's supposed to be opened till 8PM. I took a bus to JP only to find out that the library's closed because it's moving to another location. Damn.
I've been gaming the whole day, not wanting and not being able to do anything else. Gotta sleep early because I've gotta reach camp early tomorrow. Going to have some games. Sounds like crap to me. Whatever...

What's Wrong With TV...?
Having spent the last week of 2005 at home resting, I found out that local TV programs really suck. There's nothing on in the morning and afternoons. In the evening and night, lame variety programs are shown. More recently, there's this trend of having superstar hosts/singers/bands/actors. Those programs did spark a little interest in me initially, but watching too much of those shows is like going to the toilet to take a dump 10 times a day, you'll lose interest in the shit eventually. Why would people stay glued to the box just to support a mediocre host/band/singer/actor trying to reach for the stars, only to be a passe stranger in weeks?
Either that crap is shown, or some lame documentary will be on. I just turned on the TV just now as I was having dinner in the living room and saw True Files and another documentary on problem gambling. It's a fucking Saturday night and crap like these are shown? Where's the entertainment, yo? Not all people go clubbing on weekends, mind you. The TV executives should really reflect. If weekend programs suck so much, I don't have to elaborate more on weekday programs.
Also, I saw this drama based on a Jin Yong novel, made in China or something. Boring shit. Chinese dramas, like I said before, do not appeal to me. I used to like them so much, but eventually, I got bored of the uninteresting and repetitive plots. I used to claim that I have no time for TV, but now, with all the time I have every evening, I refuse to watch shit like that on TV.
Local programs don't seem to be comparable to American programs. Good stuff like Drawn Together and Weeds should be shown here. Call me pro-American, but please, stop making me suffer.

These Few Days...
It's been raining everyday. Kinda spoils my mood of doing anything. I just feel like sleeping all the time because the weather is just so cool. Just got home from a trip to town with Jen. Collected my Commissioing Ball photos. Damn, we looked good.
Caught up with Drawn Together season 2. That's a damn funny and crude series. For those who don't know what you are missing out or don't remember it due to having a mutant trapped in your head, go read my first few blog entries.
Started a new game of Archspace. It's a damn good online browser game. Addicted to it already.
