I Despise WoW Player...As the title suggest, I despise WoW players. I really do. In case you don't know, WoW is the abbreviation for World of Warcraft, an online game that is the latest craze in town. Basically, players control a character and go around killing other fuckers, Diablo style, then they gang up to kill some huge-ass monster or whatever.
I can understand people playing games, or rather, online games. I play Guild Wars, another online game, every now and then, like once a week or something. But WoW players do it like a cult. They have to pay a monthly subscription fee. They play it everyday, organise themselves to go on 'raids' and prioritise it above everything else. They let the game control their lives, that is why I despise them.
What are the common examples that they let the game control their lives? Here are some...
When asked to go out, a friend of mine said, "I can't. I have a raid later..."
When asked to play mahjong at my house, aother friend said, "I can make it, but I must be back home by 4PM. I've got a raid..."
When asked to play mahjong at my house, yet another friend, "I don't want to go to your house. Why don't you guys come over to my house? I've got a raid tomorrow morning..." (That led to 3 guys living in Jurong to travel all the way to Sembawang to play mahjong.)
When offered a $9/hour job that requires him to work at night, a different friend said, "I don't want that job. I've got raids on most nights..."
What the fuck are they thinking? They haven't met their friends for a long time and bitch about it, but when people ask them out they'd rather play games. And the job offer one was ridicuous! $9/hour is a fucking good offer and he would rather do something that doesn't offer money. I call them morons. Maybe they all have been living too good lives and do not know the value of money or the meaning of being poor.
I talked to some WoW players regarding their stupidity. One said, "I know my limits." But he refuse to leave home when he wanted to play mahjong. He opted for 3 guys living far away to travel to his house to play with him. Why? For a fucking raid in the morning. Fuck-head.
When I told one of them that at our age, we should be thinking of making money and not spending time on a useless game that requires us to pay monthly subscription fees, he told me that he IS making money. He told me that a WoW account can be sold for a few hundreds or even over a thousand dollars. That is making money? In most cases, the players do not sell their accounts because they have invested too much time in it. What do they do? They continue playing the game and waste more time and money on it. Also, the time needed to play with that account before it is ripe to be sold is way too long. Subscription fees by the then would have added up to quite a huge sum. Working for the money is a more realistic option.
I asked one player if he thinks he is wasting too much money playing WoW with the monthly fees he has to pay and he gave me a fucking lame answer. He said that because he has WoW to play at home, he goes home everyday and saves a lot because he doesn't go out and spend money. What the fuck is this argument about? It's all self-control, you dick! I can go home everyday and not spend money also, and I don't need to pay monthly fees to do that. In that, I save my spendings and the fees.
A WoW player I know talks about the game all the time. Whenever he sits down with people, he'd single out the WoW players and talk all about DKP, mana and shit like that. There is no more social life for him. What's worse is he set up a guild and now he's on the phone all the time organising raids. He calls people from overseas also and has chalked up quite a large sum of bills. What realistic value does that bring? I really do not understand.
So here I must conclude that WoW players that let the game control their lives are downright dumb. I don't feel guilty labelling them morons. I won't say all WoW players are like that but up till now I've only seen a WoW player that is not like that. Those are thus my reasons for despising WoW players.
Don't talk WoW to me. And don't even attempt asking me to start playing WoW or you may just be on the receiving end of a tight slap. I've got better things to do with my time. You should find something better to do with YOUR time too.
End...
