Zouk...I went to Zouk last Friday. I was lured there by the NUS Business Communications Bash held there, but a string of disappointing events left me with yet another bad experience there.
I sent messages to Suffian, Fariezan, Wee Hung and Eng to meet at Orchard MRT Station, at 10PM. I left home a little late so a took a cab down. On the way there, Wee Hung called and said he and Eng would be late. I was fine with that. Suffian called later to tell me that he'll be late too. Since Fariezan was driving, we decided to meet at Zouk instead. At about 10PM, Cindy called to tell me that we had to enter Zouk by 10.30PM if we were to use the tickets I bought from her earlier. It would've been great help if she had told me earlier. Pissed, I decided to refund the others' tickets and enter with 1 ticket first, but she grabbed all my tickets and returned me my money. I couldn't be bothered to argue. I paid $28 to enter. WTF?
Went in and saw Leong, Jun Hong, Kangjie, Zhengqi and Stephanie. Suffian and Fariezan came about 20 minutes later. Suffian, Fariezan and I stayed near Jun Hong and company and danced in Phuture until Wee Hung and Eng came. Strangely, NUS Business Communications seemed to have a lot more guys than gals. There were ridiculously few girls.
To make things worse, there were faggots in the crowd. Yes! GAYS! I'm not sure if they were on drugs or something but the whole lot of us saw about 4 guys smooching one another. When I mean smooching, I don't mean light pecks on the mouths, I mean fucking french-kissing! That's really fucked-up. To make things even a little stranger, there was a girl in the group of gays. Talk about identity crisis... The scene was rather surreal. There were 4 guys kissing away and a girl right in the centre caressing them and getting caressed at the same time.
I think I've said this before, but I have no problems with gays, as long as they keep their ass-fucking and tongue fencing to themselves. They were too close! Suffian was screaming away as they danced closer and closer. Unable to take the homosexuality, Suffian went to 'scout' Zouk. He reported that Zouk had more chicks and more space and so we left Phuture for Zouk. I was feeling rather fortunate that I didn't opt for NUS Business Communications after that encounter.
At Zouk, I found out that there were indeed more space, but I beg to differ when it comes to the statement of 'more chicks'. The crowd there's old. If Phuture was the NUS Business Communications Bash, then Zouk's the NUS Business Communications Lecturers' Bash. The music there's not my type too, but I still found myself dancing to it. We returned, or rather, we tried to return to Phuture at about 1.30AM, but the place was too crowded by then. We left soon after. Once again, like our previous visit there, we swore never to go to Zouk again. I wonder when's our next visit... Fariezan drove us to Kay Poh Road for the prata and sent all of us home.
I later found out that a lot of NUS Business Communications students did not turn up at the bash. I don't know why. I guess it's either the organisers did a bad job or they are just pure unpopular in the course. No wonder the crowd looked so sad.
End...
