Back...
Ok, I'm back here blogging after being absent for over a month. For those who don't know the reason, I haven't been blogging because I broke my arm. Yes, I BROKE my arm.
No, it's not a fucking fracture. My two bones in my right arm literally snapped and jutted out of my arm. And there was a dislocation of my elbow to go with it. It happened when I was playing basketball. I was guarding this tall guy and he did a fake. I jumped as high as I could to try to block (obviously I fell for it) and he dash past me, knocking me in mid-air. I become disorientated in the air and I found myself going towards the ground head first. Instinctively I stretched out my right arm to support myself so that my head would not hit the ground. Falling from mid-air and landing on only for right arm proved too much for it and I heard a 'snap'. I momentarily saw my arm twist in a disgustingly weird manner. That's when I know my arm broke.
I know I should not use my hand to support myself. I took martial arts lessons so I know I should not. However, there was really not much time to think then. I laid on the floor and let out a loud shout, not out of pain, probably out of shock and to gather attention. I looked up and saw my friend surround me and looking at me with mouths wide open. I shouted at them, asking them to dial 995.

My arm when it was broken... Notice the 2 broken bones and the elbow dislocation...
I laid on the floor calmly, with my friends more anxious and freaked-out than I am. I felt thirsty and asked Benedict to get me a cup of soft drinks. I drank while lying on the floor. Toon Lee was asking me to relax but he's obviously the one anxious as I was lying down there enjoying the breeze and all. I tried calling my parents. I got to my dad but he was asleep and didn't really give a fuck about my situation. After some shouting and vulgarities from me, he finally woke up and sort of understood the situation. He contacted my mother and gave all the wrong information he perceived, almost leading my mother to the wrong location. Fucker...
After what seemed like forever, the ambulance came. The paramedics confirmed that it's a fracture and dislocation. I was brought up the ambulance and after a slow and painful journey, I reached NUH's A&E.
I was given painkillers, had an X-ray done and was operated on. My first time in a hospital and I suffer from a broken arm. I was given 2 months' MC and stayed in the hospital for about 3 days. I had a sling around my neck to support my arm for weeks but it's gone now. I'm going for physiotherapy to help my arm movements and everything.

That's how my arm is now... Notice the metal plates...
It's been almost a month now. I'm much better now. I can do most things myself. I'm playing computer games, typing and blogging and playing mahjong with friends already. However, my grip is still damn weak. I even have problems opening doors. My thumb has no strength at all and I cannot fully stretch or bend my arm due to the dislocation of my elbow. The doctor said I may not be able to fully stretch it for life but I'm not going to submit to that generalisation. It's only a 'may' right? I'm going to do everything it takes to recover my arm functions. I have the will to do it. I'm going to play basketball again one day.
PS: I have more bloody photos of my arm after the operation and a photo of the hole in my arm where the bone protruded but I'm not putting them here. I'll put it in my next entry if you guys really wanna see it.
End...
